I have been a journalist for more than 20 years and have been freelancing for the last ten. I used to be a newspaper hack, back when daily newspapers still ruled the world, as Media Correspondent for The Independent and Press and Publishing Correspondent for Media Guardian. As a media journalist I have followed closely the tricky journey that media companies have been on over the last decade as free and fake news have threatened their business models. As Voltaire said, in difficult times we must cultivate our garden, so I have also turned to gardening and writing about it as an antidote to all the media madness. I am also writing an historical thriller - watch this space.
