Hello, I’m Ciar, a freelance journalist with over 25 years experience, specialising in writing about gardening and the media industry.

I’m also the author of the Woolf & Bell historical crime novels, A Deadly Discovery and A Lethal Cocktail, starring Virginia Woolf and her sister Vanessa Bell as a pair of unlikely amateur sleuths

When I’m not dreaming up murderous plots involving members of the Bloomsbury Group, I write about gardening for national publications including the Daily Mail and Gardens Illustrated.

And if I’m not writing I’m usually to be found in my garden shed, or up on my allotment overlooking the South Downs trying my hand at Hügelkultur.
