Hello, I’m Ciar, a freelance journalist with over 25 years experience, specialising in writing about gardening and the media industry.

I’m the editor of Homegrown Kitchen magazine and write a weekly gardening column for the Daily Mail, as well as freelance features for other national publications including Gardens Illustrated and InPublishing. I’m also a committee member of the Garden Media Guild.

With my fiction hat on, I’m the author of the Woolf & Bell historical crime novels, A Deadly Discovery and A Lethal Cocktail, starring Virginia Woolf and her sister Vanessa Bell as a pair of unlikely amateur sleuths

And if I’m not writing I’m usually to be found in my garden shed, or up on my allotment overlooking the South Downs trying my hand at Hügelkultur.
