I have been a journalist for over 20 years and a freelancer for the last ten. I used to work for daily newspapers back when they set the news agenda, as Media Correspondent for The Independent and Press & Publishing Correspondent for The Guardian. As a media journalist, I have documented the journey that media companies have been on ever since, negotiating the obstacles and opportunities of the digital age. Voltaire said that in difficult times we must cultivate our garden, so I have also turned to gardening and writing about it. If you would rather read about soil than social media, visit me at And if novels are more your thing, I am writing an historical thriller - watch this space.
