I have been a journalist for over 20 years and a freelancer for the last ten. I used to write for daily newspapers as Media Correspondent for The Independent and Press & Publishing Correspondent for The Guardian. Before that I worked on staff for Private Eye magazine. As a media journalist, I explore the journey of media companies as they negotiate the obstacles and opportunities of the digital age. Voltaire said that in difficult times we must cultivate our garden, so I also garden and write about gardening. If you would rather read about soil than social media, visit me at And if novels are more your thing, I am writing an historical thriller - watch this space.
